The HMX42 is a true HDMI matrix switch, meaning both outputs can select from any of the inputs independently.  You can display the same or different inputs on each output.  It also supports discrete digital audio outputs which allow much easier connection to your home theater receiver.

HMX42 is fully compatible with both HDCP and HDMI version 1.3.

The HMX42 can support the following typical applications

• Switching 4 HDMI inputs to 2 displays and 2 home theater receivers
• Integration with the CMX matrix switch to support all video & audio types

CMX compatibility

The HMX42 can be used stand alone for HDMI switching, or in conjuction with the CMX series matrix to provide a complete audio and video matrix switching solution.  When connected to the CMX matrix, all device control is handled by the CMX switch.  The HDMI outputs will show up in the CMX control menu as to more controllable outputs.  It is also recommended to connect one or more of the CMX outputs to the HMX inputs (using our component/digital audio to HDMI convertors).  The diagram below illustrates this connection.
