Full volume control supported.\n IMPORTANT ===> You MUST have firmware 2.7.0 or higher to use this driver\n This driver will allow FAST switching in Composer 1.82 or later\n Front panel and IR control will be locked out. Digital audio conversion / transcoding only partially supported Matrix debug tool in composer only partially supported \n Driver setup PLEASE READ!\n 1. MUST use version 2.7.0 or higher CMX firmware 2. C4 currently doesn't understand digital audio conversion (transcoding) from Coax to/from Toslink. CMX88 can operate as a pure 14x14 digital audio matrix, but given the C4 limitation you need to setup the driver in one of the two following ways. Case A: You don't need to transcode any input types to a different output type == You can use the switch as an independant 8x8 coax and 6x6 toslink matrix 1. Set all digital audio selects to "BOTH" 2. Connect all your digital audio connections using the actual cable types (connection type = cable type) Case B: You have some inputs that require transcoding to a different output type == You can use the switch as a 8x8 digital audio matrix with transcoding 1. For each input, connect the required digital audio cables. Only use 1 cable per input (toslink OR coax) 2. For each output, connect the required digital audio cables. Because transcoding is forced ON, the toslink and coax pairs on each output will be linked 3. For the C4 driver input CONNECTIONS, make the connection as type COAX ONLY (this will require modifying the source drivers that use TOSLINK outputs) 4. For the C4 driver output CONNECTIONS, make the connection as type COAX ONLY (this will require modifying the display drivers that use TOSLINK inputs) 5. In the CMX driver PROPERTIES, select "COAX" on the inputs which have a COAX cable 6. In the CMX driver PROPERTIES, select "TOSLINK" on the inputs which have a TOSLINK cable NOTE : Case B can also be used with all TOSLINK connections. However, remember there are only 6 inputs/outputs (will limit you to 6x6) 3. The Video, Audio selection and volume properties are READ ONLY states 4. The Max and Min volume limits should be configured to your preference (to avoid clipping) 5. To use volume control, connect the CMX room volume control to your volume endpoint 6. Make sure you fully connect all the "connections" used to both inputs AND outputs for VIDEO 7. Make sure you fully connect all the "connections" used to both inputs AND outputs for AUDIO 8. You can also paste the following into in the LUA comman window, then click execute ExecuteCommand("Read_status") This will readback from the switch. Check the properties tab next and verify that Readback config status = OK 9. If you want to save the current switch settings to flash as power on defaults, use this LUA command This is RECOMMENDED if you are not using volume control (saves nominal volume as default). sendrs232("CF7F\r") sendrs232("CF7T\r") 10. The "Enable zone powerdown" property will automatically powerdown each output zone when not in use. 11. If desired, you can adjust the INPUT volume levels on the PROPERTIES page. 128 = Nominal volume (no adjustment) 196 = Volume boosted by 50% 64 = Volume attenuated by 50% Make sure your output volume setting is nominal, and adjust each input volume setting so that each source is roughly the same volume level. 12. C4 ramp speed sets how fast the Control4 ramp function executes (in ms) 13. Internal ramp speed sets how fast the CMX will move between volume levels. 3 is default, 6 slowest and 0 fastest. \n\n Additional Commands\n Read_status: This will poll the CMX to get the device status and update all properties. Normally this is not needed since the FP and IR are locked, but can be a useful debug tool. The Readback config status and Readback avsync status properties are set by this command. They will transition from CurrentState => waiting => OK or ERROR or TIMEOUT. OK means functioning properly. TIMEOUT means no response from CMX. ERROR on config status means the device config is incorrect. ERROR on avsync status probably means the FP/IR lockout was not engaged. \n Save_state X: This will save the current input/output/volume settings to flash slot X. This useful for a quick recall or doorbell/intercom mode. Recall_state X: This will recall a previously saved state from flash slot X. Send_serial: This will send a specified generic serial command.
